Senator Klobuchar: Profiles in Leadership or Politics?

Minnesota's Junior Senator, again, fails the courage and political savvy test on another important issue!

The FISA vote occurred a few days ago with President Bush and common sense winning a stunning victory considering Democrats run the House and Senate. This was one of the BIG issues Democrats ran on in their land slide victories a few years ago.

A few weeks ago Senator Klobuchar basically voted for the FISA bill's passage in total.

In true Klobuchar fashion we see another profile in Leadership with a last minute switch trying to ride the fence keeping everyone happy. The result is Senator Klobuchar is the loser with all sides of the political spectrum calling her out when
reading Democrat or Republican blogs and editorials.

Senator Klobuchar voted two days ago with the "Liberal Left" (reversing her votes of two weeks ago) by trying to strip the bill of the immunity provision for telecoms and the eventual cloture vote. The end vote was 69-28 with the bill passing.

The one thing we know after the past few weeks is we effectively do not know, yet again, where the Senator stands on an important National Security issue because she can say: "She voted for it before she voted against it". Amazing!!
