Two excellent posts that everyone should read. I found it amazing that for all the gloom and doom presented by Mr. Stinson our state government continues to bring in more revenue than anticipated.
I have said for many years now, as Small City Mayor, our representatives and officials in St. Paul need to start to update their view of the world. Minnesota has changed, and there are many items that need to be revamped, scraped, or modified so that everyone is looking at the whole picture.
Tunnel vision seems to come from residing in the Capital or State Government to long. Also a great post on the Federal Reserve. A great topic for everyone to read up on should be Moral Hazard in Federal and State Governments.

- A friend of mine said: "WOW. It must be weird to be addressed as "The Honorable Nathan McLaughlin." I said it was, however, I've learned as Mayor people learn to drop "The Honorable" portion pretty fast, and insert other descriptive adjectives and verbs most of which shouldn't by typed or spoken out loud.
