A Republican Challenger?

Does anyone know other challengers? I have been in touch with 7th District Republicans, and I have only been told there are those interested but nothing confirmed.

Collin's challenger

Alan Roebke of Chaska announced on Thursday that he's taking on U.S. Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn. in this year's election.

Roebke, whose news release describes him as having 30 years of farming and agricultural leadership in the district, wants to take on Peterson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee, specifically on agriculture policy.

His release says Washington should "stop the outrageous handouts promoted by Congressman Peterson and his powerful friends."

One question: Chaska's not in the 7th Congressional District, which Peterson has represented since 1991, is it? Not that it's a legal disqualification from running.

No web site, but the news release lists his e-mail as alanroebke@chaska.net.

It also says he's trying to raise money for "an issues tour of the 7th district, designed to put Congressman Peterson's handouts to the rich and failed policies into plain view of all residents."
