MDE: Context of McCain's "100 years war" comment

I thought this was a great post by MDE on the context of the comment Democrats love to highlight. In my overseas travel American influence is very important in the post cold war world. John McCain, on this issue, is right on the money. America needs to have a presence and strategy overseas because our "footprint" has in many instances changed and become smaller.
